The 2009 special election for the 20th congressional district of New York to replace Kirsten Gillibrand is set to be held on March 31, 2009. New York Governor David Paterson appointed Kirsten Gillibrand to the United States Senate in January, replacing Hillary Clinton, who moved on to become Barack Obama’s Secretary of State.
