Captain Richard Phillips made a successful escape attempt today and gave the United States Navy the opportunity to eliminate 3 of the pirates and wound the forth.
After waiting almost 5 days to be rescued Captain Richard Phillips took it upon himself to make another escape attempt and this one paid off. The Captain leaped off of the life boat and plunged into the waters giving the United States Navy a clear shot at his captors.
Many people were upset that it was taking so long for President Barack Obama to take action and let the Navy Seals do what they are trained for. Others made the excuse that the President was planning the rescue and was taking his time to make sure all would turn out OK. That argument seems silly as the US Navy Seals train constantly just for situation like this and are prepared to act quickly and precisely to get the job done
President Obama owes Captain Richard Phillips and the US Navy for ending this ordeal so he may once again resume his plan of pleasing the rest of the world and bankrupting the United States.

Glad this one worked out. Obama did the right thing. Kudos to him. We'll see how he does when a real test comes along. I hope he passes it.
Good thing the Captain made the move he did. It was only a matter of time before his captors would have executed him. We cannot "negotiate" with these people without opening Pandora's box.
It is a shame that President Obama did not act quickly to resolve the situation. Sitting on his haunches does nothing but make the U.S. look weak and invite more acts like this. This was a minor test, and one he did not pass.
