It was only a matter of time before his captors would have executed him. We cannot "negotiate" with these people without opening Pandora's box. It is a shame that President Obama did not act quickly to resolve the situation. Sitting on his haunches does nothing but make the U.S. look weak and invite more acts like this. This was a minor test, and one he did not pass. Good thing the Captain made the move he did. It was only a matter of time before his captors would have executed him.
