I had not planned on writing on the gay marriage issue as it is written about and talked about so much these days on the internet. Two things have changed my mind. The first was when Miss California’s, Carrie Prejean’s, remarks sparked outrage with her comments on gay marriage and the second was on article I read on The Politically Light Organization website.
Both of these have caused me to change my mind about writing about gay marriage for different reasons. The first, Miss California, appalled me by how many Liberal Pinhead nut jobs attacked Carrie Prejean for just answering a question with complete honesty about how she personally felt about the issue of gay marriage. This poor women has been constantly and personally attacked for being honest and true to her beliefs by the far left pinheads. The second, the article on The Politically Light Organization hit the nail right on the head and mirrored my thoughts and beliefs on the issue of gay marriage that I just felt I needed to voice the same opinion with my added thoughts.
I have always believed in small government and the more government is intimately involved in our lives the worse off we are as our lives get more complicated and our freedoms are diminished. In accordance with these beliefs I believe that the government has no right to impose any laws on marriage. No place in the United States Constitution does it give the right to the government to get so involved in our lives that the government can actually regulate the bond between two people.
As the fore mentioned article brought to our attention, marriage has long been a religious ceremony and the First Amendment clearly states that the government cannot get involved in the religious beliefs of the people. Here it is clearly stated:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Now I have no right to tell two people that are in love that they cannot be together, that is well above my pay grade as a mere human. My beliefs tell me that when a man beds with another man or a women beds with another women it is wrong and against God plain and simple. They are my beliefs and I should not be chastised, hated or otherwise be attacked for them. I do not believe that homosexuality or gay marriage are moral but as that is my belief I do not force or even expect everyone to agree with me.
Some will call be a bigot or worse, but please keep in mind I do not hate homosexuals I just do not agree with their beliefs just as they do not agree with mine.
The bottom line here is that no matter what your beliefs or feelings on gay marriage are the government has no right to impose any legislation pertaining to marriage as marriage has always been a religious ceremony be it Christian, Muslim, Jewish or any other religion.
